New pond Can't Post

After I treated my new pond for more than a month with pineapple skin, I found the ph is still at 9-10? What others treatment is more efficient?

How many times have you drain your pond water ? In normal case, after several draining and adding water over a period of 2 ~ 3 weeks, you should be able to achieve a pH of about 8

You can always add acid instead of draining and adding watewr to bring the pH down and observe whether it rise again.

I have drained my pond for at least 5-6 times (once a week)for 1 1/2 month. I re-test the ph level again, it still shown about 9. What type of acid should I use?

A new pond needed at least 3 months to settle down. Otherwise you will be constantly challenged with an all high pH of 9. If you are not afriad of smell and your neighbours are not disturbed by it, you may want to consider treating it with white vinegar. 3 weeks is all you need otherwise continues with what you are doing.

Good luck.

Hi Sichang,

Since you stay in PJ, you may wish to try Arowana Koi where you may purchase mild acid for your pond. I purchased mild acid from Jeffery many years ago when my new pond was built. Acid will definitely help in the curing of your pond.
