Old Fishing Trawler Nets as Biological Filter Can't Post

Hello All,

I have access to a large quanity of used fishing net and I wonder if this would make for a good medium for a bio filter?
At the moment I have 4 cubic metres of pea gravel and it has been undisturbed for Eleven (11) years but recently I have noticed that I need to overhaul the filter and as one would know gravel is extremely tiresome to work with and I would like to replace the gravel with the nylon netting.
Thank You for any feed back.

So long these nets allow the bio-bac to grow, I don't see why you can't use them. The question here is DO THEY HAVE EVEN SURFACE AREAS FOR THE BIO-BAC TO GROW. Efficency is another factor to consider.
