Hi Tan, the other alternative is cockle shells. These may be obtained FOC from any "char-koay-teow" stall. But you have to make sure that you do a good cleaning job before putting them in the filter. pH of 6.5 is too low for koi. I suggest you increase it gradually by adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). 100g of baking soda increases the KH of 1m3 of water by 1dKH. I suggest you add half of this amount (50g x 18m3) once a week and check pH until it increases to above 7.0 . Koi thrives between pH 7.5-8.5 . In the meantime, get the shells ready.
