Pond construction with cheap plastic and mortar Can't Post

Have any one try this. I was thinking of making a pond out of cheap 8mil plastic that you can get from the local hardware store and then cover it with mortar. The mortar will keep the UV from hitting the plastic so the plastic wiill not crack and the pond will not leak. Let me know what you think or if you have done this.

The DIY stuff is real kinky!!! Honestly I love DIY.
OK 2 important areas for consideration:
1. The amount of water the tank gonna take.
2. Has it got the strength with withstand the water pressure and mass.

8mil plastic, do you mean 8 mm thick plastic? I believe it is not possible. The mortar do not readily bond with plastic material. Without reinforcement steel bars, the mortar will just crack under pressure.
