What material to use for bottom of pond Can't Post

Hi
I'm new to this forum. My name is Glenn and I live in Australia.

I have been a fish keeper for many many years but I have never
kept koi. So this is my first adventure into the world of KOI.

Due to space restrictions at my house, I have purchased a "plastic"
2500 litre tank with a depth of 60cm utilising a pressurised filtration
system.

My first question is: What material should put on the bottom of
the tank? ie. sand, gravel, rocks??? OR should I put nothing?

My next question is: Is too much water flow through the tank good
or bad for koi.

I await your expert adviceSmile

Hi Glen,

Welcome to forumSmile You shouldn't put anything on the floor of your pond. Koi eats a lot and produce a lot of waste tooShockedTongue

Pressure filter is okay but I don't recommend but not for koi pond and you'll need to back wash it more often, IMHOWink

How much flow are we talking about???

rgds,
Jon

Hi Jon thanks for the info.

I was looking at about three times the volume per hour.
Is this too much?
