filter advice required Can't Post

hi i currently have my pond running on a yamitsu blackbox filter on a pump feed system for the last couple of years its been a loosing battle cleaning the filters out. i have just purchased a external kio pump 1/3 hp. What i want to know is how do i pipe up a bottom drain to my existing pond (can i use pvc pipe downto the bottom and then through my existing bulkhead above the surface) ?whats the best filter to use ?my pond is raised built with concrete blocks,so should i build a filter with blocks and use a liner ?i want a settlement tank /vortex to collect the debris first.any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont wanna do it wrong thanks lee
