Hi all, I'm a newbie from Indonesia. Just finished building my house and decided to add a koi pond in it after visiting this website for a few month and reading all the posts. My pond is 1,5 meter ( w ) X 4 meter ( l ) X 1 meter ( d ).The pond is inside the house, and no direct sunlight all day. I still having a difficulty in calculating the total capacity of my pond. This pond have 4 bottom drain and the surface water will flow through the overflow at the edge of the ponds, by this way i think that the pond do not have to use a surface skimmer. All the water from overflow and bottom drain will be suck by a pump ( using Boyu with capacity 18000 l / hour ) to a drum which i hope can be use as a vortex (just like the vortex drum that koi38 post at one of the post i read ). And from the vortex the water will be trickling to a trickle tower ( which i also hope to work ) made from 8 industrial crate around 40cmX30cmX30 cm. The industrial crate is filled with 2000 pcs of bioball.all the water will then deliver back to the pond using Boyu with capacity 10000l/hour. The water inlet at the pond is 1 trough the fountain which I also planted a water plan, but not sure what species is it, the gardener told me it's name is Papyrus. The other inlet is at the surface of the pond which I hope could made a little current at the pond. Somebody, please tell me that this set up is good enough for keeping a healthy koi. The koi , i just bought it at fish shop, not certain what kind and are they good enough or not. So please help me identify the koi, and please tell me if i made the wrong choice. when i buy this kois, i just choose the pattern i like without knowing the quality of the koi itself. Thank you.
