help .... check my pond and koi Can't Post

Hi all,

I'm a newbie from Indonesia. Just finished building my house and decided to add a koi pond in it after visiting this website for a few month and reading all the posts.
My pond is 1,5 meter ( w ) X 4 meter ( l ) X 1 meter ( d ).The pond is inside the house, and no direct sunlight all day.
I still having a difficulty in calculating the total capacity of my pond.
This pond have 4 bottom drain and the surface water will flow through the overflow at the edge of the ponds, by this way i think that the pond do not have to use a surface skimmer.
All the water from overflow and bottom drain will be suck by a pump ( using Boyu with capacity 18000 l / hour ) to a drum which i hope can be use as a vortex (just like the vortex drum that koi38 post at one of the post i read ).
And from the vortex the water will be trickling to a trickle tower ( which i also hope to work ) made from 8 industrial crate around 40cmX30cmX30 cm. The industrial crate is filled with 2000 pcs of bioball.all the water will then deliver back to the pond using Boyu with capacity 10000l/hour.
The water inlet at the pond is 1 trough the fountain which I also planted a water plan, but not sure what species is it, the gardener told me it's name is Papyrus. The other inlet is at the surface of the pond which I hope could made a little current at the pond.
Somebody, please tell me that this set up is good enough for keeping a healthy koi.
The koi , i just bought it at fish shop, not certain what kind and are they good enough or not.
So please help me identify the koi, and please tell me if i made the wrong choice. when i buy this kois, i just choose the pattern i like without knowing the quality of the koi itself.
Thank you.

Re: [digit] help .... check my pond and koi [In reply to] Can't Post

do you have the picture of your entire pond and sistem? do you live in JKT?
My concern is whether you REALLY need a second boyu (to save energy) to bring the water back to the pond.
thanks

will take the pictures today and post it in the forum.
the problem with using 2nd boyu is that the pond and filter elevation is same, so i can not count on any gravitation to help me circulated the water.
please wait for my pictures.
thank you

Re: [norazli] help .... check my pond and koi [In reply to] Can't Post

still no reply or comment from other sifu...? Frown
have some question here...
1. How to get rid mosquito? it seems like they are everywhere in my filter area. Already try to put 10 small fish in it, but still no improvement.
2. Need to add water everyday. around 1/2 cubic each day. dunno where the water goes. as mention above the pond is indoor, so no direct sunlight, but still have to refill the pond everyday. already check for leakage, but also find nothing.
please somebody... help me...

Last time when I was still using 4 sump aquarium I put some guppies inside and it helps.

It happened to me now after I decide my return pipe from the filter box to create some water fountain. I believe it was due to evaporation. For you case it could be because of the trickle tower. Just my opinions. Rgds
