help with filter size Can't Post

curently building a filter for my 8550 galon pond which is being dug up. since i culculated that my pond surcace area is 176sf (16l x 11w). to my understanding the filter system has to be 30% of the pond surface area. knowing the surface area of my pond im planing on building a filer which is 14 feet in length and 3.7 feet in width. that would give me a 30% surface ratio to my pond.
please correct me if im wrong.
the problem is i dont know how deep should my filter be. can some one tell me what depth should i go for the filter.

thankyou
