indoor pond help Can't Post

I am building a small indoor pond for the baby koi. Why have just one pond outside when you can take the fun indoors? haha

I have the filtration and design worked out already but I am debating how tall to make the lip of the pond (so they don't jump out) The pond is going to be a little over 2 feet deep and no koi over 7-8 inches will be allowed in the small pond.

I was thinking about making the lip 6 inches but wanted to consult the experts on weather that would be enough.

I was also wondering what plants I could use for my indoor koi pond. Because the pond will get very little direct sunlight my regular pond plants are ruled out.

Thanks!

Hello, I once had the same idea as you, but I noticed that since my indoor pool didnt get sun, the colors on my koi changed some what and they looked shitty, and as far as plants go, well your out of luck, plants need sun light! so???? as far as jumping goes, they generaly jump for a reason, so try to prevent the reasons, which are ph, problems, bad water perimeters ect! In any case a lip of 6 inches is fine, although they can jump higher! but jumping is not an everyday thing!

As far as my pond goes I understand what is going on as far as the water quality (ph, kh, ammonia etc) I don't have problems with with water quality. I am very anal about my fish but I have noticed if something scares the fish enough they will jump.

There are some offices in the area that have ponds in them. The koi look fine to me (A little overfed though lol) There is natural light in the room where the indoor pond is going to be. Was there a lot of natural light where your indoor pond was? Did you change their diet once moved indoors? Did you eventually dismantle your indoor pond?
