patio pond Can't Post

Ive started to build a patio pond out of a 275 gallon water troff. Its about 6' by 24"
I think i may have bought to big of a pump. Its a 1800 gph pond master?
I was going to use a 2.5 gallon bucket with filter material for a pre filter, and I have a wine barral insert for a bio filter, with 10 gallons of bio balls. I was going to run 1 line off the pre filter for the bio filter/water fall, and the other to the bottum of the tank with a ball valve to adjust the presure and keep stuff from building up on the bottum, Please let me know what u think about the pump being to big?
I may also add another tank latter, who knows. lol

Re: [turfpro] patio pond [In reply to] Can't Post

Well i finished my pond (atleast for now lol) There is alot of water moving but I think the koi are going to be fine. They can sit in one spot with out having to swim. so i guess the pump isnt to much of a over kill. The bio balls float, so i used the bucket they came in to make the filter. I hooked the hose to the bottom , drilled alot holes in the top, and put it in the wine barrel. Should work great?
