pond lighting Can't Post

new to the site!

In the early stages of pond construction in my basement. The room has NO natural sunlight, is this a deal breaker?

I was also planning on moving my aquarium to this location, same question. Is the lack of any natural sunlight a problem?

Re: [bkoi] pond lighting [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello, I have a big room that has little sun light and I have a 1000 gal pool in this room which I now use just for separating my koi from my ponds outside to keep some koi from breeding with others, so I noticed big differences in the intensity of their colors from when they are outside to when they are inside, I only keep them inside for a few weeks, but I still notice a big difference! The color inside is not good, in fact in some of them their colors acualy change so much that they almost look like a different koi. I have not bothered with installing florecent lighting because of the costs and I dont use this pool enough to make it worth while! But I feel that with GOOD lighting you could overcome this problem!
