rebuilding my pond Can't Post

I'm in the process of rebuilding my old small pond. My current pond at home has no bottom drain, and no proper filter system. As of now, my kois are doing well and no sign of disease. However, I would like to rebuild it and make it bigger and deeper. I still haven't calculated the volume of the pond, since it will be very irregular in size... I'll have to ask my contractor with regards to the volume.

Let's say it's gonna be about 8,000 gal., do you recommend a vortex or a settling chamber with brushes and nettings?
1) If it's vortex, how big and deep should that vortex be?
2)Then how many biofilter chamber should I have? 3)For the drain of each filter chamber, do I need to have a separate drain box for them?
4) Where does the water from the skimmer go?
5) I will put an overflow pipe, where will the water go?
6) Can I have both skimmer and overflow? Or just having an overflow will do? I'll just have somebody scoop up the floating debris of the pond.
