should i build a pond bridge

i want to know if building a pond bridge would be a good idea. My pond isn't what you called big, but its really wide enough to build a pretty long bridge. I have no idea how lond and wide my pond is. I heard that it was about 4m x 4m. also, would it be good for my fish?
