Re: [chinkavun] submersible pump [In reply to] Can't Post

From what I learned, the calculation is based on the volume of the pond water against the pump flow rate x lit/hr. The minimum requirement for the pump flow rate is twice the volume of the pond water to make it al lease 2 cycles/hr but the more the better.

Sifu.. please correct me if Im wrong... Cool

Best regards

Please refer to "Shallow Pond" threat... Im also in the progress of constructing my pond and I have bought a pump that can deliver 13,500lit/hr with 130w price around RM280. However I may need 2 of this pump to make it more efficient as my pond volume is around 8,000lit. I will use the 2nd pump either for additional TT if required or will set a timer to run it for certain hours per day as a supplementary cycles of the water. Cool

An excellent submersible pump I would recommend when using it to pump water from the pond to a filter system are "solid handling filters".

Some name brands include Hozelock Titan and Oase.

The design of these pumps allow large debris to be sucked from the pond into the pump the filter quite easily, and are designed so that the kois themselves are not sucked into the pump itself.

Hi Abangk :

Thank you for your prompt reply. I really appreciated it.

Wah,.....only RM280 for a submersible pump, that is really cheap. can you provide the particular for the pump like the model etc ? Is it a China made pump ?

I am from Sabah & I will try to search it from local market. From the info that a get , a ordinary submersible pump easily cost RM500-800.

Thanks in advance.

By the way, do u have any messenger ? May be we can online chat.......

Not sure how reliable the pump is but its one of the recommended pumps by a few koi farm shops for a cheap, low power consumption & high output with 1.5" outlet. Yes there are many types in the market as recommended by our friend above but I just want to try with this cheaper one first, will come back with the detail. Cool
