water flow Can't Post

I am building another settling pond for ditch water I use for irrigating grape vines. The water has dissolved clays I need to settle out. I am considering building 4 ponds 20' x 8' x 5' deep in a series to breed and rear koi, and settle some of the clay out of the water.
I will be having a constant water flow of about 60 to 80 gallons per minute. The water quality is excellent, as koi thrive in my other ponds, and I have had it tested. The water is about 60 to 65 degrees.
Will a 60 gpm flow be sufficient to keep water quality good in 4 roughly 7,000 gallon concrete ponds without alot of worry?

Hello Mike,

That will give you plenty of fresh water if you don't go overboard with stocking levels.

I would suggest if possible to split your water flow so each pond has as individual inlet and outlet instead of having one flow into the other. This would give you much better control. If you experienced a health problem with one pond you could better contain it.
