HI! I am new to this hobby and I have many questions to ask. SO bear with me later, but i'm only going to ask one question this time. I've heard lava rocks only work for an amount of time and it stops because the pores get clogged up. Will back-washing it clean it out and it will be able to filter again? My next question is about wrapping foam. I've heard some people use wrapping foam as both a biological and mechanical media. Does it work? Please and answer my queries. thanks
P.S. I know that was 2 questions not one like i stated at the beginning.
