Estrosieve works very well if the particles or solids you intend to filter is hard, e.g. sand and other hard particles. Water is pump into the filter and allow to flow through narrow slits. Particulate larger than the slits are trap in the filter. The same priciple is frequently use in industrial filter, usually as pre-filter. It would not be very effective in filtering pond water. The fish waste are soft and slimmy, it will clog the fine slits in no time unless you clear it frequently. For the same budget, it would be more effective to invest in trickle tower. Install it after your existing fibre matt filter chamber.
