BiCarb Soda Can't Post

Could someone give me some advise as I am new to keeping Koi. The question is in reading this forum the use of BiCarb Soda can be used to rise the pH and also low the pH is that correct and if so all you need to do if the pH is high or low is to add the correct amound of BiCarb Soda.

Thanks Darryl

This is a good, although scary reading on the use of sodium bicarbonate and PH crashes:

http://www.koivet.com/html/articles/articles_results.php?article_id=206&category=12&search_term=bicarbonate\

I personally find that using 1 tablespoon per 500 litres of pond water will raise PH by 0.5 points on the PH scale.
