This past spring I had a string algae on the bottom and sides of my 6000 gal. pond.I made weekly water changes through the winter and used bacteria suited for cold water temperatures through the colder months before shifting to a bacteria more suited for warmer water. Within 2-3 week the string algae slowly began to disappear and the black liner became absolutely clear. As the weather has warmed up a new form of algae has grown. It is much shorter form of algae has grown in it's place and is growing only in areas when the sun directly hits the pond. Not sure if this is a positive development as I am still relatively new at this. Water quality has always been in the positive range and my koi are active and doing well. Please help me to understand thsi new development. Is this form of algae something I should be concerned with and treat? I appreciate your advice. Sansebastian
