If my pH is higer than 7, means is alkalic right?

now....

when my pH is lower than 7, what should I use to raise the pH level of the water?when my pH is higer than 7, what should I use to lower the pH level of the water?

i know some of the things that is comman......but confused about them!
Coral, Baking Soda..........i think i know these 2 only!Tongue

Hope someone can clear my "maze"!

All the information you need is already in this forum.

Use the search for PH buffer and you will find all you need to know.

Hi,

Ok, Coral's buffer the water, which basically means they do not increase of decrease the PH instantly, they just provide a cushion should the PH suddenly crash (i.e drop). They will prevent the PH from dropping too far, too quickly.

Baking soda is used to raise and lower your PH to 8.4 (if used correctly with the correct amount).

Thanks again! Really sorry to waste your time!
Anyway, just wanna make sure, is it Baking Soda is used for both way of buffering and lowering the pH of the water?

Thanks!

Baking soda is used in situation whereby the pH falls below the acceptable value. Although there is no harm done to your fish, it is ineffective to use baking soda to lower pH.

I would recommend 100gm per 100 gallon of water.
