Crate TT???? Can't Post

Hi everyone

In the post about where is everyone. Someone mentioned in one of their responses that they used Crate TT and it kept their water crystal clear. So what is Crate TT? Never heard of that. I was curious and I will put in a search for Crate TT but figured I would post and ask that questions anyway.

Our fish are hiding. It got really cold last night and we had snow. This messes up weather is hard on them, I think. First we had winter, then right into 80's and spring summer together. Now we have winter and snow again. Hey I am confused why not them. I never know what to wear for the day. Our fish don't know if they should stay on the bottom or come up top. Well that is my funny for today. Take care, Lynda

Milk crates, bread crates. You may have seen these crates at your local storage. Better still I have some pictures of said crate below. They aren't from my collection, but from 'Carloskoi' who is a member of the Koiphen and Koivet forums.

Basically you have these crates, and they are raised a few inches above the ground and you spray water above the media in these crates that trickle down and back to the pond.

The Culprit [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Lynda,

I think you were referring to my reply to Sir Jon. Blush

"Crate TT" was really the first thing that popped up when i was writing my reply, had to give a little idea for Jon what kind of TT i did for my pond. Wink

And i think by now you already got what i meant!!! (a TT using Plastic Crates Smile just like the pics from Carloskoi)

Just to add, whatever bio media you use, you still have to wait for some time for the bacteria to colonize inside the TT. and do it's job properly, basically an "un-submerged bio filter".

Hope it'll work for you too!!!

Best regards

Albert

Re: [acuygongco] The Culprit [In reply to] Can't Post

hey Albert

I liked your idea of the trickle tower and the use of lava rock. A few people said that the bio balls are better for oxygen. So I guess I will not change it yet, until we redesign our filter system. Everything seems to be working fine as it is. So I guess I will leave things alone. Thanks alot, Lynda
