Daily Water Change Can't Post
I came across about 10% daily water changes is required for pond. To me it is quite costly just to drain the water to the sewer. I'm still planning towards my new fibreglass pond. I have this little idea wish to have everyone's comments.

My new pond location is just next to a toilet. I intended to pump the pond water to the water cistern (for WC) flushing system in the toilet before it go into my filter system. The water cistern wld become the settlement tank of my entire filter system. The pond water will discharge daily by flushing the toilet. To my opinion it achieves the followings,
1. Daily water discharge, of course I have to top up the water either manual or by auto-switch.
2. The water use to flush the toilet as form of saving.
3. A normal settlement tank cannot be that clean as this tank flushes several times a day. And the water should be hygenic/clean enough for toilet flushing purposes.

Any comments? all are welcome.

Wow! Finally someone knows the trade... can save alot monies.
Please, if you have the schematic diagram of how this can be achieved, please send it to me. I want to save water and achieved the same result.

I'm still in planning stage, I will try to draw it out and send later. But I think could only work for small pond (6'x3'x2' or 8'x3'x2' depends on site measurement of my new unit) as I planned to have.

For big pond like most experts have, it problably has to supply to public toilet. Ha!Ha!Ha! (Just for joke, hope that you don't mind) [biggrin]

mmmph...excellent idea. Besides flushing the toilet, can also be used to wash pavement and water the plants. Great thoughts!

Guys,

I don't know about using the water to flush toilet but my plants really like the pond water and my mom loves it for her lotus and wanted to plant more lotus around the house & some in my pond Smile
