Fish Jumping Can't Post

I went away for a week on the 21st july.Unfortunatly just after we had had tonnes and tonnes of rain here, and places flooded.I left with fish all fine and when i came back i opened the back door and smelt dead fish.my large ghost koi had come out at some point while i was away.so we cleaned that up and over the last few days i could still smell it.then while sitting near my pond i realised my beko wasnt in the pond.so i searched and found it in the same place as i found the ghost koi.

i have no idea why they jumped, water and bio filter all fine.altho not tested the ph.would the heavy rain we had for days affected them badly.its an above ground pond so didnt get any nasties in from flooding

Hi,
Was your fish sort of jumping or swimming around and bringing their heads, top part out of the water? "before" you left? Did the pond 'overflow' and the fish went with the water? I have read that your fish should never jump and if they do, then something is off in the water quality...sorry that I can't be of more help..but, did want to reply to your situation..I'm sorry you lost your fish. Frown How old were your fish?

im new to keeping koi but i have put fences up around the edge of my pond, around 12inches around the front and sides, 18 inches at the back, the fish should never jumo tho, unsure as to why they may have been doing so. the only time fish come to the top is to feed or tailslap, i think!!

What i think is ur koi may have jump may be due to ph deteoration..which is always gd to put kusuri clay(montmorillonite calcium clay) every once aweek basis if u r keeping koi's outdoor..how long have u cycle ur pond water b4 introducing the koi into the pond..?
