Help ! Am I testing the water correctly ? Can't Post

Hi

After reading about the importance of water testing, I ran out and bought a test kit for ammonia. When I tested my pond water , the result was positive. 0.2ppm. I also tested tap water and Ice Mountain (bottled drinking water) and if I can trust the test kit , they have as much ammonia as my pond water. At this point in time, I am thinking my tap water is contaminated by sewage like that Bukit Timah condo. Yucks

So should I just throw out my test kit and buy a new one or am I just chemically challenged ?

Oh , lastly , can any one tell me where to get a good brand test kits in the west side of Singapore. The shop I went to only have that ammonia kit and ph kits. Thanks

There are a no. of fresh water fish aquariums in Clementi area. The other 2 areas which I frequent in Singapore are Rainbow (at Serangoon North) and Red Sea Aquarium (Mr Lau at Peace Centre). These vendors are stockists for test kits.

As far as I know, all test kits are acccompanied by a small writeup together with color charts. Some good ones like Tetra is easy to use. I think if you read those intructions and follow them carefully you shouldn't have problem finding out the quality of your pond water.

Hope this help.
