Dear all, I have just begin koi keeping for only one week. [redface] I have a 4ft x 2ft x 1.5ft fiberglass tank with 3 chamber filter box (1st chamber is heavy brush, 2nd chamber is fiber green mat and last chamber is sintered glass and coral). I trying to build a bacteria colony but I believe it takes times for the filter to be mature. Hope that someone could help me on these problem on water quality: 1. The Ammonia content is quite high (~3mg/l)from the Tetra Test Kit (which state defective breakdown of harmful substances). What can I do to reduce the ammonia content. 2. There are white foam bubble formed on the side of the tank. Is it cause by the dirtiness of the water or maybe the algae? Is the above problem cause by the my inappropriate use of filter media? Please advise. Thanks
