High nitrite	Can't Post

Could someone help.
I have a small garden pond with 4 small KOI and the nitrite is high (2.0) the ammonia and ph is ok . Its is a new pond and the filter sytem has been run for 6-7 weeks.
I have been doing a 20% water change every 2-3 days.

Question. Am I doing the right thing if not please help.

High nitrite. Yuor filter has not matured enuf to handle the heavy load. To immediately neutralise the nitrie, add salt to 0.1%, stop feeding for 1 week, continue tour water change... If you can provide aeration to pond and filter....

Question. Would swimming pool salt be ok or do I need some other type of salt.
