How to "break-in" a new pond quickly ? Can't Post

I have just constructed a new concrete in-ground outdoor pond measuring 8ftx5ftx3.5ft. I have filled the pond with water and have left it running for 2 days already and I have not introduced any dilter or bio elements yet. Currently the PH is at 10. How can I lower this quickly and kick start the pond in the shortest possible time. Currently in the pond - a water pump in the last chamber(clean waterchamber). Yet to be added - My filter is a 3 chamber filter with the first chamber comprising of a mechanical filter - "the Answer" by Evolution Aqua, the second chamber is a bio chamber which will consist of oyster shells 4 x 7kg, zeolite 6 x 7kg, bio-mats, biohome splintered glass elements (2kg), and bio rings 2x, and I will of course be adding in dry bacteria purchased from koi stores ! I would greatly apprecate advice on how I can quickly get my pond PH down so that I can start adding in koi's so as to enjoy my work ! Thank you in advance for your kind advice and contributions.

Hi there. Sorry no answer, but a question: did you use 'regular' concrete? Is it painted? If not, that'll leach chemicals from now until the end of time which will make the tank poisonous and unsuitable for fish!Unsure I built a pond very recently using almost same dimensions, but used plastic (non-toxic but much more expensive) cement, and then also painted it with non-toxic Dry Lock paint (also to prevent the concrete from absorbing water endlessly). I know that wasn't your question,Shocked just something I thought of to ask when I saw you too just built a concrete tank!Laugh

Hi, The lime in the concrete is leaking out into your pond.

What country are you in ?.

It may be worth emptying th epond and giving it a few coats of G4 or V8 (UK).

Oops ! Sorry but I forgot to add that I finished the job using G4 Pond sealant to "seal up" the pond effectively waterproofing it. Thanks for your advice and insights, pls keep them coming !
