Dear tancho
They look like tadpoles.
My fish just yum them up. Good source of protein.
mind you i do try to save some by putting them in my stream coz my fish will just eat them all if i don't.
Soon they will be frogs.
Very little risk to your fish (intergestion maybe) lol

Hi,

Those are definitely tadpoles. The bubbles are probably caused by frogs spawning in your pond and when the water turns green, you would have missed the strings of frog eggs Wink.

Cheers,

My readings indicate tadpoles eat their own faeces for nutrition at times.

You might want to contact the local school to see if they want to adopt some tadpoles for science lessons.

In the alternative, you can also raise them in a container. I raised some native tadpoles and one grew up to become a frog :D

Thanks guys. I don't have any problem with frog, but thinking of having hundred of them in my pond is not a pretty picture. Oh well, I'll see if I can catch them then give them to some local schools then.

tancho02....

Oh don't worry about a million frogs at your pond...Tongue

As long as you've got hungry fish....they'll be gulped and digested.....Laugh

and yeah they would make a fun science class...

With regards, Jarvis

hi there, i was just wondering what happened with your tadpoles last year. i netted out thousands of eggs but there's still thousands more hatching and my fish aren't really going after them (6 4-6" koi). any negative side affects? would love to hear the outcome. thanks, zoe.

Yep, my kois never eat those creatures. So, I just let them be. The pond seems fine even though I have so many frogs in the yard. They come out at night, so many of them....Frown

thanks, i guess i'll just keep netting them out. frog genocide. i'm sure many will survive though to keep down the mosquito population. they sure are noisy though.
