Hello.

It's my first time rearing kois. So far, I've only a filter with an airpump and de-chlorinator for the water. Is there anything else i need to purchase to ensure the quality of the water?

get a bacteria starter, should kick off the the filter good.

BUT NEVER GET KOI!! yet. try let your pond running for a month first without any fish. i mean try... i know its tempting when u look at an empty pond, but enjoy the sound of water first. once the pond is quite stabalise and bacteria matures slowly add fish. try out with cheaper local kois first.
