Is this creature dangerous? Can't Post

Hai,
Take a look at this creature (some kind of snail I think). I don't it will hurt my kois at lots of them are found inside my filter chamber. Really a lot. I've washed my chambers by draining out all the water but few weeks later they were there again. Can anybody help me to rid of em for good?

Regards,
Izani

You definitely want rid of them as they will multiply faster than you can imagine, but your filter is already giving your evidence of that. They probably snuck into your pond from some plants. They are notorious for plugging up plumbing and filters if not removed completely.
As already mentioned, copper is very toxic to Koi, but there are other remedies. A 4ppm dose of Potassium Permanganate should do them in, but you MUST be very careful with the dosage as it is also hard on Koi if you get the dosage too high or leave it too long. If you don't know the exact gallonage of your pond and are very good at using chemicals, don't use it. Whenever adding plants to a pond it is always a good idea to put them in their own quarantine tank, hit them with a heavy dose of Potassium Permanganate (5-10ppm), and then rinse after 24 hrs. That will kill off any snails or parasites that may be living on their roots, without harming the plants. You must never dose a pond with fish in it that high as they will not survive it long.

Hai,
Thanks guys. You're right about the snails that they do multiply very fast and I also do wonder where they come from. Now I remember that it's definately from the plats that I use sometime back than. But now the plants are all gone. I've removed them from the pond. The Plants used to be in the main pond not at the filter chamber. There are non in the main pond though.
As of today they are still it the filter chamber and have to reclean them all over again.

Regards,
Izani

The problem with them is that they start multiplying immediately and when born the offspring are so small you will not see them. They had probably already migrated to the plumbing and found their way to your filter chamber long before you moved the plants. Their population in the pond itself won't amount to much as the Koi will eat them continually. The ones in your plumbing and filter chambers are out of reach so they will multiply uncontrollably living there.
