They're called "Koi Snacks"Wink... Whenever you clean your filter just try to wring them into a bucket and feed them to your babies. They'll love you for it. They actually don't hurt a thing, and eat crud in your filters anyway. Kind of like having an edible cleaning crew in your filter systemTongue

I too have an edible cleaning crew in my filter consisting of earthworms and midge fly larvae, and on occasions red worms. There are just some creatures on Earth that enjoy eating what you can't see nor stomach.

Hi everyone,

I have that too in my sponge filters. I suppose its actually good to leave them there since they eat the unwanted waste? Free maids from nature to clean up the mess.... Sly

i have the worms sometime back... infact loads of them... i had no idea what was it and that start cleaning the filter weekly once. but they multiply so fast and quick that not fighting for... then my friends advice just leave it and see if my fish eats it. and they did.. was happy and some research on the net showed they are and safe and good for the filters too... if you want to control their population just buy prawns and dump in the filter they wiil do the rest..... so your KOIS will enjoy the worms and prawns when end in the pond rather then the filter .... heheheh regards
