New pond rock and cement leaching. PH too high Can't Post

Okay I am new at this. I have had the pond filled for about a month. Ph is crazy high. At first everything had a sandy residue, but has stopped. I would like to be able have fish at some point, but the test with feeder fish was short lived.

I have tried ph reducers, salt and was thinking about emptying it and washing it down with a pool acid and trying again.

Any suggestions?

The pond is about 500 gallons with a 8 foot three tiered water fall. One large pump for waterfall and underwater filter with pump separate.

You will find that having an underwater filter will be difficult for you to clean and maintain in the future.

Consider purchasing or building an externally located filter for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Drain the pond- seal the rock and mortar with a paint type substance-sorry cant be of any more help e.g. brands etc because i have never had experience using them- however i know they will exist. This will stop leaching and by doing this you ph level will stabalise.
As koiguyoz has said an underwater filter may not be the best route- however get the leaching stopped first

Hello, first of all, cement work or cement has a curing time of around 27 days! This means that there are still changes happening in the cement during this period, and one of these is a leaching process. So even though it is hard does not mean it is FINISHED!! so just drain the pond again and re fill it and wait a week or two then check the PH. If you have more questions, let me know!
