Oily emmisions from bottom?? Can't Post

I just noticed something interesting, Looks like "bubbles" coming from the bottom and turning oily once they hit the surface then dissipating. You dont really see the bubbles coming up though.

Pond is 2K gallons, no bottom drain, Ph is about 8,Ammonia is 0 nitrites are 0 as well and nitrates are under 50.

I do have a string algae problem that i just treated with Algaefix. This pond is a year old and it is my first one. Any help appreciated. Thanks

hi,
i could be wrong, but dissolved organic contents (DOC) from food and other oily organic matters dont get filtered out by bacteria activity, they just get dissolved in water. when these water filled with these oil/fat/protein interacts with air bubbles, they get stuck to the bubbles and form foam once surfaced. regular water change helps, but some get protein skimmers. try and research on protein skimmers, its a great tool.
