Pondovac vacum cleaner Can't Post

I seek opinions of users concerning the vacuum cleaner Pondovac of Oase. I have a pond of 20 m2 surface. Can I hope to maintain the bottom of my pond with this device. How long is necessary to completely aspire this kind of pond

Thanks to any answer

My question is will a pondovac pick up your pea gravel on the bottom of your pond or is their an attachment that stops this from happening?

Hi

I recently bought a ponovac 2, and i am seriously impressed with it (albeit damn expensive in the U.KPirate)
It has loads of different attachments designed to do what ever job in the pool required of it, remove silt/gravel from up turned plant pots to blanket weed etc.So in that scenerio is very very versatile and efficient.
My only "concern", is the fact it is so powerful for small pools like mine it will empty the water out very quickly, as i found myself concentrating on the total removal of all unsavoury items on the floor bed and for a while neglected to keep an eye on water level!!!
One use i found is like the very heavy rain falls we have had recently quickly filled my pool upto the edging stones. Before i used to bucket out the surplus but now use vac to take out additional water and at same time remove rubbish on the floor.
My opinion: i rate the ponovac 2 9/10. (by the way if there are any Oasis dealers in here watching, i expect a 50% comission on all vacs sold in next 10 years!!!!!!!)
Hope this helps.

does the pondovac 2 cut off by itself like i thought ,as mine is the remote controlled type when the batteries start too go you tend to have too be nearer the vac than normal and if your over the other side of your pond then its a pain in the neck to keep moving back too the vac too get in range but apart from that a brilliant piece of gear and a must for any pond owner

Hi Alan

Yes when the vacuum is full it will turn itself off, then release tank before resuming suction again automatically. It is mains operated so no need to worry about time span...just if you have water left in pool after first and second clean!!! Am hoping that with all the changes ive made recently (ie:vac and extra filter) this will improve my water quality so avoiding all the horror posts i read about fish affected by condition of water.

Hi Alan
The gravel in the bottom of my pond was put their by the pro's so I guess it was put there for show since it completed the pond with a natural look. I love the way the pond lookes and if I ever build another pond I would do the same thing although I would use larger gravel as it is hard to keep clean, my pond is only 16 x 16 x 3' deep and it takes all day to clean because of the small pea gravel. Been thinking of taking it out and replacing it will med size gravel.

Hi

I fancy the idea of a gravel bed to the pond it would also give the fish something to poke about in, but I use a bottom drain....Do you ? and if so how do you stop all the gravel going down the big hole ?

I have a 12 x 15 foot by 5 foot deep pond with a bottom drain. above the bottom I installed a grid floor which is covered with medium to large diameter stone, this allows flock to pass through to the return to the filter as well as allowing my koi to nose through the stone. They have loved this for the last ten years. Twin returns keep the void from building up any bad situations. I use an upflow system which I built and has only needed to be backflushed twice a year and am very happy with the results.
