bentonite error Can't Post

Blushwell folks, again I need your help. this past weekend I filled the cracks in my waterfall with clay, bentonite mix. I decided to do that because my son is building me a mud pond and it became apparent of how hard this stuff becomes when dry. Due to back wash under the rocks, my fall lacks a better look. So I came up with the grand idea that since koi like bentonite that I'd make this mix, fill in the cracks, and what leaked out would be okay for the koi. Well, it just did not work like I envisioned. It did for the first day. The clay hardened, the water washed over the rocks, my fall was beautiful and then the water began to become cloudy. cloudier.. cloudier... the rest is history. the water now is like a foggy day. I have done a 20% water exchange. the parameters for nitrates and nitrites are fine. the ph is fine. the clay has washed out into the pond as well and I keep back washing the filter system often. The water is kind of greasy feeling.

What would you suggest? do you think it will hurt the koi? so far they seem fine, but i really can't see them very well. My plan is this, to continue to do water exchange every day, over the next three days, but if you folks know of some other secret that would be great. I just can't seem to leave things alone. I'm constantly looking to improve this or that, and make a lot of mistakes.

Once I tried too hard to control things in the pond....the frogs left.
