fish safe pesticides Can't Post

Hello all, I have a question. I have an Arizona Ash tree that overhangs my koi pond. The tree is infested with mites, usually i will spray pesticides, but I cant in this case. Anyone know of a chemical I could use?

Hello, in general pesticides are not made to NOT KILL, in other words their function is to kill. your tree ( FRAXINUS VELUTINA) otherwise known as Arizona Ash is a tuff tree so what I would do is the following, either trim or cut back the branches closest to the pond, or cover the pond with a good plastic tarp and spray the tree! One thing I would try to do is water down the folage on the tree, often times mites breed on trees that have dry folage or have little wind circulation. It is very hard for mites to breed on frequently wet trees that have a nice air circulation. And do not trust some garden center for advice on koi! If I can help more, just let me know.
