Is there any truth to the fact that white vinegar can be used as a ph down substitute??

I think I read that fact somewhere but does anyone know for certain??

Hello, one thing to check is the quality of your PH testing E.Q, I have a high tech digital PH tester and the common pool type, well, the pool type is so off that it is probabily more exact to just guess. So it is important that you KNOW what the TRUE PH is, and there is also a reason that a digital one costs around 200 dollars and the other a couple dollars!! And I would like to mention that when we test PH, we often talk about ( . 4 or .8) the reality is that there is almost no differance in a reading like 7.3 or 7.5 they are the same more or less. these details are for very exact scientic studies. So if the tester says 7.0 or 8.0 this is what is relative. It is similar to saying the temp. is 75 and a half degrees today!! That half is not relative for the most part!

You never did mention what your ph actually is... Where is it running in your pond, morning and evening readings both. Also, What is the reading of your fresh water supply, straight from the tap, and after settling for a few hours.
