I'm also curious, Farida. Are the pebbles still white after a year? Where are they placed? All over the pond floor or inside the filter? Do the pebbles look shiny or do they look very porous? Any photo you can post up?

Dear Farida,
I am just as curious as Paul. But first, how big is your pond?
I hugely suspect that the white pebbles in question is 'ZEOLITE.' If your pond is small enough, then it will work fine as the zoelite pebbles will
readily absorb ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. If there are no nitrate, means no algae. BTW, is there salt in your water? Which I assume the salt level is '0.'
Else, I will explain it to you.

My Pond is about 12 tons with steeping stone walk way of about 6" deep and 4.2 meter long with .9 wide filled with white stone about 3" to 4" diameter about 3 to 4 layers of stone and the water will drop going to the pond.
the stone is white smooth and shiny when brought, but after a few month the stone turn rought. maybe because of the water content or nitrate which affect the smoothness. but i didn't put any chemical in the pond, even salt.
in fact its full of algea if i turn off the UV light for a week.
