6th Malaysia Koi Show & Championship	Can't Post

Hello there,

6th Malaysia Koi Show & Championship was held at the Chinese Assembly Hall from the 26th to the 28th May 2006 successfully. Of course there were hiccups but compared to the show it was a drop of water in the ocean. For all those ‘koi kichis’ who missed the excitement, entertainment and enjoyment for one reason or another, do not worry, I am posting the photos of the event. Pls be free to post your comments and views about the show.

Mohan taro-san, Must say that you and your team did a great job despite been a completely new team. That and also the great team work with all other depts, all you brave souls should feel very proud that this show is perhaps the most incident free... Thousand apologies if I came across as a tough SOB.... see like everybody else, I am also under a microscope. I believe under the circumsatnces, I may be the most annoying fella. Tongue

The benching went on from 3p.m to10p.m.It was a Himalayan task to sort the countless number of photos .The benching team worked continuously from 2p.m to about midnight .Then, further arrangement of the photos into Judges’ Albums took place .Thanks to Thiam Hwa, Ravi, Danny, Segar and my family members for a job well executed despite the fact that they we all first timers in the benching team. Special thanks to Ee and Mak for checking the size of the kois magnanimously – this is a very sensitive matter but at the end of the day there were no problems at all.

However, there were casualties while benching. A Hi Utsuri, a Ginrin Chagoi , a Showa and my homebred Ogon died after releasing into the tank Frown

.It could be because of temperature acclimatization ,water parameters or too little water in the plastic bag. Well a post mortem had to be made. Notwithstanding these everything was fine Smile

Photo of my Ogon which went into the pond in the heaven Frown

. This was under the70cm Hikari category and it had a sure chance of victory as there were only 4 entries including this .There goes my prize as well.

Judgment Day – 27th May 2006

The judges comprising of Mr. Keiichi Iwahashi (ZNA certified judge), Mr. Yasuo Suzuki (ZNA Assistant certified judge), Mr. Richard Tan (Asst. certified judge), Mr. Jeffery Chan, Mr. Phang Hon Seong (Local certified judge), Mr. Tsai Chin San and Mr. Alan Chin (Local certified judge) coupled with a group of trainee judges, judged the kois from 8am to about 5pm. It was rather a long, due to the large number of kois and the ‘British Style Show’

judges having a close look.

That one gets "nomber one"

Hi Hwong,
The followings are my observation:
* In so far as there is speck or asagi hi on the koi, judges will tend to give it a "X", i.e. eliminated.
* Judges tend to prioritise Gosanke to Non-Gosanke in their choice of the various Champions.

Anyway, do you have any pix on the 1st prize + best pattern koi in your 3rd Koi Selection and Rearing Competition? Hope you can share if you have one. Sly

Selection skill and rearing competition

4th selection skill and rearing competition commenced at 2p.m. on 28th may 06. The members picked the Sakai Kohaku which was sold at Rm 550/= each.Members will have to rear them and bring back next year. They stand to win valuable cash prizes at the 7th Malaysia Koi show and Championship.

100 charming Tosai Kohaku - members spent hours deciding which is the best.

Tosai Kohaku certs.
