Hi ts, During the koi chit chat session, Vincent was conversing in Cantonese which I am not very familiar understanding it. Nevertheless, from what I could gathered, he has very briefly explained the following points when selecting young tosai koi in general. Look for koi with:- 1)Big head structure 2)Appropriate body length with high back 3)Beni- look for even and thick Hi throughout. Koi with thicker and deep Hi on the head when compared to the Hi on the body will more likely turn out to be a male koi. 4)Pectoral fin - look at the first ray bone on the pectoral fin. If it is thick, more likely male. If it is transparent, more likely female. In my No.8 posting of the group of 5 Sanke, Vincent first choice is the bottom Sanke followed by the extreme right Sanke as his second choice. BTW, won't you at the event as well? Maybe you could also share with us your knowledges on selecting potential tosai koi with prize winning quality. Thank you. Best Regards, Thiam Hwa
