Dear Hee Heng,

Congratulations for Klab Ikan Koi ZNA Malaysia for hosting a truly remarkable and an easy-to-access koi show.
Very much appreciating also the great hospitalities extended by you, your committee and koi club and fellow hobbyists to the entourage from Jakarta Chapter.
We're really enjoying the show and its programs, and will surely be back for any of your next show(s).

Hi ThiamHwa,

Thanks for posting the photos.

I would like to take this golden opportunity to thank my Benching team members for a job executed smoothly. The sorting of photos is the most sensitive and tedious part of the English style show. Despite this, many koi kichis came forward to undertake the responsibility namely Yang, Daniel Lee, Wong, Sim, Cheo, Ee, Mak, Poh Chai, Roger, Deepa and Latha and you – Thank you very much.

The club in appreciation has resolved to hold a Thanks giving dinner to all volunteers, we will announce the date, time and venue soon.

Hi Mohan,

Thank you too. Will also email to you photos taken of the prize presentation for your photo album collection.
If anyone else who had their photos taken during the prize presentation, please send me a 'Private Message'
with your email address and I will email it over to you as well.

Now, more pictures taken on the Koi Show. I am afraid I do not know who are the owners for some of the koi
posted and hence I will not mention any names. Thousand of apologies for the lack of information on my part.

WoW! Picture of this size is so much easier for viewing.

You should be there to witness the outstanding performers by these groups of school boys whose primary aim
is to raise money for their School Fund.

HWONG's Dad is truly a perfect reflection of the kindness and generosity in our Malaysian society.
He has contributed RM10,000 for the Chinese School Fund. In addition, all the Koi magazines sold
during the Koi Show are also channel towards the School Fund.
Did you notice the facial resemblance between the Father and the Son!

The 7TH MALAYSIA KOI SHOW 2008- TQ [In reply to] Can't Post

Thiam Wah,
Thank you for taking the 600+ pictures and posting to share.

The 7th Koi Show was a resounding success in all aspects from the highly accessible show venue, entertainment and educational value, high quality of show kois etc… In all we had 594 kois in 10 varities. Less than previous show but of higher quality. The quality between the winning kois were so close that the 4 teams of Judges took 6 hours to judge! AND they said it was a hitch free operation!

The Mid Valley Exhibition Center provided a visitor count of approx 16,000 on Saturday and 18,000 on Sunday!!! We didn’t expect such high numbers. It helped that admission was free of charge. Booth concessionaires reported good sales from many hobbyists; many new to them. Many visitors had a first hand view of beautiful kois for the 1st time. The show outcome had met our objective to promote a wholesome hobby and to provide an educational platform to educate the public about kois.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for sharing your kois with us.

On behalf of ZNA MALAYSIA KOI FISH CLUB, I would like to thank all Participants, Visitors, Sponsors, Advertisers, Koi Dealers for their kind participation and kind support monetary and in kind. We also thank the Judges, Trainee judges for the meticulous way that they went about judging. Last but not least, our friends from overseas ZNA chapters who had flown in all the way to join us in this wonderful koi gathering.

This show despite a new venue, has been well executed with hardly any hitch. Something that can only happen with love and dedication; the hall mark of volunteerism.

FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEART, WE THANK OUR HEROES : ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS, OUR COMMITTEE MEMBERS, WIVES, CHILDREN… They worked tirelessly throughout the whole week, some only with 2 to 3 hours of sleep in between.

WELL DONE!

To commemorate the occasion, I will propose to the club that we collate the photos taken by all our volunteer photographers like Thiam Wah, SL Tan, our VP, etc and burn them into a CD to be distributed to all interested in return for a small donation to the club.

As Mohan has mentioned, we will be holding a TQ dinner for all our volunteers.

THANK YOU & SEE YOU ALL AT THE NEXT SHOW

Hi Thiamhwa

Yes, you are correct than correct. It is my showa that got the 2nd prize. I am disappointed because I expected to do better. But as wong puts it the quality of entries were high although the quantity was not there. Yes quality is better than quantity. I presume the sore on the shoulder hi and too much sashi were drawbacks. A few days before the show a pimple developed in the shoulder and I removed it – the hi plate was damaged – after another year it should be o.k.

The photo above mine shows 2 showas and the one at the rear (Soon’s koi) took the first place. However, Imho it lacks volume

If I am not mistaken Ricky’s (from Indonesia) took 3rd place.

Your pixs are so beautiful that Vinod is obstinate to post some of his. Keep more coming – try and provide a caption. However, I am posting one for Lim poh chai LCJ. - Newly appointed local certified judge.

Lim Poh Chai - LCJ

Next time when I get “married” I will be looking for you – what more free e-mail service as well.

Wong’s Dad …

At the ZNA dinner at Overseas Restaurant on Saturday evening ,I told to Wong that he is a replica of his dad – I also remember seeing him somewhere – where?

Hi Mohan,

Don't be too disappointed becos' I am confident that this Showa will be a future Champion koi.

Please do post some of the photos taken by Vinodmohan. It is always nice to see photos taken by different
photographer from another perspective point of view. Here are 2 more photos taken for your viewing.
Hope you like it. I am afraid I am not very articulate with putting words together like Hwong, but
nonetheless the happiness shown in the pictures says it all.

Congratulation to you for being a newly appointed ZNA Local Certified Judge as well.

Dear Mohan,

HA!!!, look like you have push me up to the sky.

It was my pleasure that I could provide my little help (2 days) to the Koi show, but compare to all of you, Malaysia Koi Club member and committees and their family member effort for the show and event to make the club success, then my one can say is very little and small. Hope that I could help in other event that Koi Club will organize soon.

Now I can understand more on the Koi and also learn a lot from all of you and also during the judging time with the ZNA guest and friends.

For the Pond visit to Mr Ooi house, I will try my best to join as I always back to home town during week end. Thanks for the offer.

Regards
Ky Sim

Hi ThiamHwa,

Thks for posting more pixs and your e-mail. We hope to get much more than that – the more the merrier!

Hope your words will come through. Will take good care of the showa. Hope my Maruyama will shape up by then. By the way, I have emptied all the water in my big pond, patched up leaks and let it dry in the sun while the 24 kois are quarantined in my small pond. I think it is a good habit to spring clean the pond once in a while. See you at the pond visit on 13/4/08

Hi Mohan,

I am posting a few more pixs as requested. I am afraid I do not know the owners nor the prizes which the
following koi has been awarded. So, I can't place any caption to the individual koi. Hopefully others
who knew the owners and the koi may chip in the relevant information. Sorry for the lack of information.

Thiam Wah,
Thks for posting.. dont worry about whose these kois belong to. Hope you will keep posting. I am sure the members here enjoy and appreciate it. The showa in Yang's tank did not win any prize and that was a surprise to me. She has the most brilliant of colours and lustre. I was told that she lack the volume compared to the others and that she had too much sumi. This is a Sakai skowa form the Olive lineage.

The Kikokoryu belongs to Jeff Tan. This koi came in 3rd in the recent All Japan combined show. She was expected to win big here but her hi turned pale orangish that dayCrazy. It goes to show that it is not what your koi is like when in your pond but how she looks when she is in her tank at the time of judging. The owner conceeded defeat. He is a Shinkokai judge.
I dont know about the other kois that you have posted.

Cheers.
