I have noticed a couple of my koi to have black spots on them. One has it on the nose & one on the back. We have 20 koi in the pond, which holds 3,275 gallons of water. Ph is fine,amonia level is good. Do not know what it is or be concerned or treat for it.
it's called shimi, i believe because of water quality, the harder the water the more shimi occurs (?) i'm not sure how to cure it but several website have mention it and you may find more information by doing a search on shimi. samantha
