Hurt Koi seeking advice.. (pics) Can't Post

Well I'm pretty new to keeping koi, but my grandparents have been for generations.
They always keep them in a tank which alot of people say its bad for them.

Anywho, this one got hurt and we suspect it was done by our Pleco (common) since it happened a day after we cleaned out the tank.
Looks like the pleco couldn't find food and attached himself to her and bite her badly. Seems past skin deep.
The other kois in the tank didn't seem to mind either as a few pecked her.

I put her in a hospital tank, then I started treatment with Salt and Melafix in case of bacterial infection.
Its been 7 days and hasn't been better and now its showing redness near the wound. Any idea if this would heal up??
She eats and act fine and normal.

Also I noticed this formed up the day after the side wound. What do you think Infection, bite, or hopefully not ucler??

hi there..

PP come in crystal form.. dissolve abit in water and use a painting brush to apply on the wound.. wear protective gears like gloves and goggles. as it will stain ur skin, brown in colour..

the wound will turn to brown colour. no need clove oil..

remember to improve ur water quality soo dat the koi will recover faster.

Thanks for all your help..
Although actually trying to apply anything on him is harder than it sounds. LOL
He doesn't like it when I touch him haha Unsure

I'm doing weekly 25-30% water changes with ammonia chips and biowheel for control on thing. Should I discontinue using MELAFIX?

hi

no harm using melafix.. when u use ammonia chip aka zeolite, make sure no salt inside ur water, as salt will release back the ammonia into water..

good luck
