Red Spots? Can't Post

Hi,

I recently got some koi (a couple weeks ago), and one of them has developed some red spots near it's tail in the last week, and I was hoping someone knew what they were, and how to treat them. The koi is in a tank with a few other koi, all of which are fine. Other than the red spots he spends a good amount of time sitting on the bottom of the tank, although seems to swim fine, and still comes up for food. Here's a picture as well.

- Thanks in advance!

Re: [SkinTheSun1251] Red Spots? [In reply to] Can't Post

if i am not mistaken where you point the red spot, then it is more than a red spot. It become ulcer, the fish need to quarantine from the begining. Since it been couple of weeks that he live in the pond then you see the red spot, parasite can be ruled out, if you feel sure that no living creature can bring parasite to your pond. Heavy dose of bacteria in a dirty pond can cause lesion then ulcer bacteria aeronamas get in. Please read my method of eliminate ulcer by using Iodine. The fish is too small, red spot is too big, chance are not going to make it. Remmember: quarantine , and keep pond clean.
