Sick or Stress? Can't Post

My new fishes came from the farm a week ago. They made all the other fishes sick. But now, they're all fine and eating. Except for my old fishes. They swim around normally, but they just don't eat. Some of them eat, but very very little. Like only 1-2 gulps or food.
I am especially worried of this old fish about 6-8 years old. Before the new fishes came, it ate normally and swam normally. But now, it just stays at the bottom. Barely swims and certainly does not eat for days. Its not in pain for sure, it has no ulcer, red fins or anything.
Could it be stress? but y?

And if u advise me to overdose it, then tough. cauz i won't ever do that. Its not in pain at all, its my fav fish out of all and its very very expensive. I also believe that its animal cruelty.
Please just tell me whats wrong with my fish or don't say anything at all.
thx loads.

Re: [Koi_lover101] Sick or Stress? [In reply to] Can't Post

Dear Koi_lover

Your post makes me enthosise once more the importance of Quarentine. You must always quarentine new fish for a period of 6 to 8 weeks.

Gradualy increasing the temp to 23 degrees C over the first 4 weeks and then allowing it to return to normal. Have a couple of sacroficle gold fish in your quarentine system all year round, one dark and one light so any parasites illness will show up on one or the other. And if it dose you can treat in situ.

Unfortunatley it's immpossible to to tell if your fish is sick or stressed by your discription. Only thing i can suggest is to relax check the water quality and feed less. Then its a matter of time.

Now though you must treat your pond as a quarentine tank, and you may have losses but then in the future you may think about the benifits to your pond by quarenting new arrivals.

Bit like closing the barn door once the horse has bolted.
