Skin Ulcer on Koi ? Can't Post
Dear all,

Recently noticed something unusual with my koi. Looked around the web and saw similarities of a skin ulcer - can anyone confirm this?

Also, should I isolate this poor fella as soon as possible (as it is swimming with the rest of the fishes) ? What recommendations on the cure for this - salt? Frown

Hi Tan..

look like ulcer to me.. apply potassium permanganete on the affected area and improve ur water quality, if the ulcer is not deep there's chance it will recover..

it's a simple ulcer, untreated it will go deeper and expand. Apply q tip with iodine (at all pharmacy store) on the wound and cover with neoprorine (human anti biotic heal wound) then apply dental powder to the wound, to prevent water leak in the wound, 2, 3 days latter, the dental powder will broke, reapply powder to it but do not apply any iodine. If the wound do not heal, it's means the bacteria aeromanos have penetrate deep in the wound that iodine cannot reach, you have to use Tricde neo to spray or deep. You be all right.

Thanks for the feedback. Bought some PP and trying that out later on an isolated tank first.

Will try to post some updates when things progresses.
