WART OR TUMOR OR WHAT? Can't Post

Dear Koi Experts,

I have a 20" koi that had different sizes (.5cm to 1cm) of wart-like growth on its body. After treating it with Methylene blue, Malachite Green, Bactocide, Tetracycline, Japanese Furusan, Salt, dimilin and whatever I could find in the Pet Medicine section, most of the smaller ones disappeared except for the two 1cm size growth. (Please look at the attachment).

It has been quarantined in a small 70 gallons aquarium for 6 months with 50% water changes every week. But there was no sign of improvement. Last week, I drained the aquarium and I pointed a garden hose at the warts, and one came off the body with an ugly scar.

My question is:

1) What are the wart-like growth? Some said they are tumors and should be removed surgically. Others say they will just disappear with frequent water change.

2) Since one on them came off with the pressure of a garden hose, should I do the same to the other one.

3) These past few days, I saw small .5cm blisters like chicken pox. Now, is it sick with koi pox.

4) Other than the ugly wart, the koi swims graciously, flip nor flash and has a voracious appetite.

5) Is there any medicine I should use to cure this ugly sick koi?

PLEASEEEEE HEEEEEELP!

DEAR KOI LOVERS,

I SENT THIS CALL FOR HELP A WEEK AGO & HAD MANY VIEWERS BUT DID NOT RECIEVE ANY ADVICE. I THINK I MADE A MISTAKE IN ADDRESSING IT TO KOI EXPERTS. IT SEEMED LIKE NOBODY WOULD WANT TO CONSIDER THEMSELVES KOI EXPERTS, THEREFORE I AM MAKING THIS PLEA TO KOI LOVERS, KOI DOCS, KOI VETS & KOI HOBBYISTS.

ANY ADVICE FROM YOU WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. Please refer to the attachment of my previous posted mail. Thank you!

Hi jtlee,

I've never come across this in any reading or experience.

It would appear the 'wart' is superficial and only extends to the scale itself. Can you tell if it extends below the scale and into the tissue of the koi itself?

I would probably also seek help over at the forums of www.koiphen.com and www.koivet.com for further analysis by other members.

Sorry I can't be of any more help Unsure.
