help!!! Koi is breathing heavily and lethargyc Can't Post

I need urgent help, my koi for about 20 cm size, since 2 days ago I noticed was breathing heavily ( rapid gill and mouth movement) and also looked lethargic. Few days before my pond was in high nitrite and I notice this fish was also flashing a few. There is no sign of redness in the fin or skin, the whole body of fish has no sign of illness and looked normal to me. Since 2 days ago I ve quarantined the fish and give teramicyn and 0.5% salt, but so far no sign of improvement.
Please adviced what to do.Unsure

You certainly have had a bad history with your kois (I looked into your past posts).

The high nitrite levels can be brought down with 10% daily water changes until your biofilter is capable of reducing the nitrite levels by itself. Use dechlor during the water change if you use tap water.

Do you know what caused the nitrites to rise?

Any spawning, newly dead fish, decomposing leaves at the bottom, cleaning of filter media? These can cause increased nitrites.

Keep nitrite lvs as close to 0 as possible with frequent partial water change, salt lvs at 0.3%, 02 lvs as high as possible including good aeration and pH as close to 7 as possible. Slightly acidic/ alkaline ok. Your fish is suffering from nitrite poisoning, their blood has turned brown and have lowered oxygen carrying capacity. They are suffocating and have an increased succeptibility to secondary infection.

Salt in koi body is .9% if you put .3% koi do not need to work hard to regulate their osmotic system. However salt make him itch, geting itch, he will produce more mucus to come to defend him. You put .5% that a lot of itching, he produces more and more mucus, it will drain him, and mucus getting in his gill make him breath hard. Usualy people put .6% only in one hour. Replace the clean water. check water parameter and so on, There is not need to be worry about parasite. PH need to be constant, do not fluctiate. Koi are OK in ph from 6.8 to 9 Ph 7 do not mean it perfect. a constant ph in that range day and night are perfect. People like ph at 7 because at that level, the red look real dark and shinning, not healthwise. There is some more that you need to check, but first check basic then go on to another subject.
