Re: [atty_rane_m] koi hurt [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello, I am no expert, but I would do salt treatments, or when things look bad, I use anestetics and put the koi to sleep while I clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide then I use Iodine one the wound, then I put the koi in a recovery tank until he comes to!

koi has a simple lesion, if do not do any treatments, it will become ulcer. the problem is too light to do any serious things. Just clean up with iodine (hydro peroside do not work very well in my experience) put neoprorine over then cover the wound with dental powder, release the fish to the pond, repeat the neo and dental again in 1, 2 days when the dental powdwer broke off. Meanwhile check water parameter, and so on to determine what cause the lesion. Its not too much for you to worry about.

Hi samantha,

what brand dental powder do you use. I was asking my dentist and she said there are so many kinds of dental powder.

Thanks

dental powder sell at walmart or any pharmacy. use to keep tooth form temporary not absorbe any liquid. spray on wound when wet, it will form a seal. If spray on not wet, it won't work.
