Re: [alanzzz] pop eye koi [In reply to] Can't Post

Dear alanzzz

Popeye is the last stages of kidney problems where the osmosis system is compromised. Normaly when these sighns appear it's to late to do anything.

As more than one fish is affected i would say it's more likely a bacterial infection.

What does fgt mean ? i hope it dosent stand for forgot....

As your new to koi keeping what exactley do you mean water is fine ? What test kits are you using and for what ?

Anyway a good anti bacterial for a start and a lot more reading is my recomendation.

Re: [zoul] pop eye koi [In reply to] Can't Post

I soak both of the koi in PP for about five minutes...
Then added 3/4 of yellow powder into the tub, waited for
three days, before feeding them with sinking pellets.
By the fourth day, the koi's were eating floating pellets
normally. The signs of popeye is gone for now, I added another
two more koi's in, seems to be normal, as they are eating happily...Smile
